Former France international and Under 20's boss Philippe Sella has confirmed he will join Agen as director of rugby for the 2012-13 season.

Sella played for Agen between 1982 and 1995 before moving to Aviva Premiership side Saracens until 1998. With 111 caps to his name, Sella is France's second-most capped international behind Fabien Pelous who is on 118. The 49-year-old recently handed in his resignation as boss of the U20 side and with Agen coaching duo Christian Lanta and Christophe Deylaud both departing from the Top 14 side at the end of the season, Sella's name was immediately linked with the post.

Agen are set to name Mathieu Blin and David Darricarrere as part of the coaching team and Sella is looking forward to returning to the club he holds close to his heart.

"I have agreed with president Alain Tingaud...that I will take the post of Director of Rugby from July 2012," Sella told the Sud Ouest newspaper. "I will look after the professional side of things and our academy project. I'm very happy that we've come to an agreement because Agen is close to my heart."
