Scotland's second-row Richie Gray has been passed fit ahead of their match with New Zealand on Sunday.

Gray has not played since Sale Sharks' Heineken Cup clash with Cardiff Blues on October 14 due to an ankle injury, but passed a fitness test after being named in head coach Andy Robinson's starting XV. Robinson said yesterday: "Richie has trained fully with us this afternoon and is in good spirits. He is raring to go for Sunday's match."

Scotland have been hit by a host of injuries, with Gray's the most troublesome of the named XV. The likes of Joe Ansbro and Chris Cusiter will miss Sunday's game and Robinson made a host of changes from the team that played the final match on their tour of the southern hemisphere in June.

But one man to keep his place in the side is Tim Visser. The Edinburgh flyer will make his Murrayfield debut for Scotland on Sunday after qualifying for residency in June. He scored two tries on his debut for the national side against Fiji and he is hoping that his stock continues to rise.

"In terms of challenges they don't come any bigger," Visser said. "I feel like my career has been steadily building up to this point and I'm now well prepared to go into something like this."
