Fly-half Owen Farrell admits he is still haunted by England's Six Nations decider defeat to Wales at the Millennium Stadium last weekend.

The 21-year-old wasted no time in confronting the agonising defeat in Cardiff, watching a rerun of the match which denied England a first Grand Slam since 2003 as soon as he returned home.

But while he insists his focus is now squarely on Saracens' crucial Aviva Premiership clash against Harlequins this Sunday, the Sarries playmaker admits he is still grabbed by moments of regret from last weekend.

"When I got back home I watched it straight away," he told Sportsmail. "I wanted to get it out of the way and learn from it. Every game is an opportunity to make yourself a better player by watching it back and seeing what you did right and wrong. It was no different with that game, even though it was gutting to watch. I've looked back at it and tried to take what I can from it but you have to move on and get ready for what's ahead of you.

"It's weird -- I was gutted after the game and I was drained from it too. You just get away from it and start thinking about the next weekend and the next game, then every now and again it just kind of catches you and you feel gutted again. But I'm fine now."

Farrell continued: "We really wanted to finish it off but the experience of playing there in a decider will help. It's got to be good for us to experience that because, hopefully, we're going to be in that situation plenty more times.

"We're definitely going in the right direction. We're ten times the side we were last year. Before the France game, I watched a re-run of our game in Paris last year and the amount we had moved on was unbelievable."
