England to wear red away kit for World Cup opener against Fiji

England will have to open their Rugby World Cup campaign against Fiji wearing their red away kit - despite being tournament hosts.

Stuart Lancaster's side, who begin against the Pacific Islanders at Twickenham on September 18, lost the coin toss to determine who gets home advantage.

England will also have to use the away dressing room for their opening clash.

World Cup regulations state every stadium used throughout the duration of the tournament must be treated as a neutral venue - including Twickenham, England Rugby's HQ.

Dressing room allocation is decided by the toss of a coin, as are any kit clashes. Fiji are the only other participating nation whose home kit is white and, having won the toss, have been awarded the home dressing room and right to wear their home kit.

England will also have to use the away dressing room facilities at Twickenham during their third Pool A clash against Australia. However, as the Wallabies' home kit is green and gold, it is likely England will be able to wear their white home strip for the October 3 clash.

A report in the Telegraph claims England will use the away changing room at Twickenham for this Saturday's warm-up clash against Ireland.
