The France coach Marc Lievremont has made a number of changes from the side that narrowly went down 14-10 last week to the All Blacks in Wellington for their one-off Test against the Wallabies in Sydney on Saturday.

The half-back pairing is a completely new one as Dimitri Yachvili and Lionel Beauxis get a chance to impress, replacing Julien Dupuy and Francois Trinh-Duc while Damien Traille starts at fullback and Maxime Medard shifts to the wing.

In the second row Pascal Pape starts ahead of Sebastien Chabal and Louis Picamoles' spot at No. 8 is taken by Julien Puricelli. Dimitri Szarzewski is promoted from the bench to shoulder the hooking duties and is joined in the front row by Sylvain Marconnet at tight-head prop. Lievremont is scheduled to announce his replacements on Friday.

France have not won a Test match in Australia since 1990 and after two strong performances in the drawn Test series against the All Blacks, will be confident of ending that losing run against Robbie Deans' Australia.

France: Damien Traille; Maxime Medard, Florian Fritz, Maxime Mermoz, Cedric Heymans, Lionel Beauxis, Dimitri Yachvili; Fabien Barcella, Dimitri Szarzewski, Sylvain Marconnet, Pascal Pape, Romain Millo-Chluski, Thierry Dusautoir (captain), Fulgence Ouedraogo, Julien Puricelli
