The Irish Rugby Football Union is reportedly poised to sign a new kit deal with Canterbury.

The Sunday Independent reports that Irish rugby chiefs are close to finalising a deal that will see Canterbury succeed Puma as the country's kit manufacturer in a deal worth an estimated €3.5m a year and set to run until 2020.

The IRFU signed an eight-year €40m deal with Puma in 2009 but they opted out earlier this year and paid an €11.5m sign-off settlement.
