French referee Romain Poite, the man who wrongly sent-off Bismarck du Plessis during South Africa's epic Test against New Zealand in the Rugby Championship, will whistle England's match against Wales in the 2014 Six Nations.

The referee appointments were confirmed on Tuesday for the forthcoming tournament and Nigel Owens, who refereed Ireland's last-gasp loss to New Zealand, will be the official for France versus England and Ireland's match against Italy. And Alain Rolland will take charge of Wales' match versus France in a repeat of the 2011 World Cup semi-final, a game where Rolland dismissed Sam Warburton.
