France took the Women's Six Nations Grand Slam thanks to a 19-15 victory over Ireland in Pau.

France got off to the perfect start when Marion Lievre went over in the corner and despite the home side continuing to batter away at the Ireland line, the score was 5-0 at the break. But come the second-half Elodie Portaries scored for France and while Niamh Briggs' penalty got some points on the scoreboard for Ireland, Shanon Izar stretched France's lead with a try under the posts.

Despite being 19-3 to the good, France took their foot of the pedal and Gillian Bourke crossed for two tries off the back of a rolling maul to make it a four-point game. But France held on to claim the clean sweep.
