Biarritz have confirmed that they will appeal the one-match ground ban imposed on them by France's National Rugby League (LNR).

The Basque side faced neighbours Bayonne back in November, 2011, in a match which was laced with incident. A mass brawl took place during the first-half during which Imanol Harinordoquy's father famously took to the pitch to defend his son. Both sides were hit with a €5,000 penalty with Biarritz copping a one-match stadium ban and Harinordoquy senior barred from the Aguilera Stadium for the rest of the season. But Biarritz have taken advantage of their right to appeal and have challenged the stadium ban.

Elsewhere in the Top 14, Castres have recruited controversial winger Paul Perez as a 'medical joker', according to reports. The Samoan flyer has turned out for the Islanders' Sevens side in the past and steps into the void left by the injured Rémi Talès and Rémi Lamérat.

The winger was set to join Toulon in 2010 but failed to arrive at the Top 14 giants - citing Visa problems - which led to his contract being cancelled. He turned out for South African side the Eastern Province in 2010 but missed their 2011 campaign through injury.
