French winger Christophe Dominici has announced his retirement from international rugby.

The 35-year-old, who has notched 25 tries for his country in 67 Test appearances, announced is decision following Stade Francais' 33-6 Top 14 victory over Montpellier on Saturday night.

"Playing for France is over," commented the veteran who made his debut for Les Bleus against England in 1998.

"It has been a big part of my life but now it's time to turn the page. There are other players and it's a new story beginning for France with the objective of the 2011 World Cup.

"If I am being honest, I know I will not be at the next World Cup."

Dominici featured in two Six Nations Grand Slam-winning sides and played a part in two additional Six Nations Championship victories during his career.

He also played in three Rugby World Cups, reaching the final in 1999, with his last international appearance coming in the defeat to Argentina in the 3rd/4th play-off in last year's tournament.
