France head coach Marc Lievremont will have breathed a huge sigh of relief after all but one of his players survived a bruising round of Top 14 action unscathed.

Only one of the 23 players who made their way to France's training base at Marcoussis last night was nursing an injury - Stade Francais fly-half Lionel Beauxis was forced off after 51 minutes of Friday's night match against Toulon with a back injury and he remains a doubt for the historic Six Nations clash with Wales at the Stade de France on Friday night.

Nine of Lievremont's squad were involved in the clash between league-leaders Toulouse and fourth-placed Clermont Auvergne on Sunday with almost the entire back division he is set to call upon on show at the Stade Ernest-Wallon. Toulouse also fielded France flanker Thierry Dusautoir for the full 80 minutes of a gruelling contest.

Stade Francais coach Ewen McKenzie was confident Beauxis would be fit for Friday night and the player will undergo tests at Marcoussis at the start of the week. If he fails to recover then Toulouse's David Skrela is expected to be called up.

In contrast, Wales' leading players were not involved in the latest Magners League fixtures and remained in camp ahead of their latest clash.

Lievremont will name his starting XV for the showdown with the unbeaten Welsh on Wednesday morning. The match will be the first-ever Championship clash staged on a Friday.
