Scotland doctor James Robson has reported 11 injuries to the squad following Saturday's Six Nations loss to Wales at Murrayfield.

Robson described the assortment of bumps and bruises as "symptomatic of the intensity of international rugby" after Scotland were outmuscled by a desperate Wales side keen to end a run of eight Tests without a win.

Fullback Hugo Southwell was a noticeable absentee for the second-half after requiring stitches for facial lacerations suffered in a clash with Lee Byrne, while winger Max Evans is carrying a strain to his left arm.

Also among the backs, centres Joe Ansbro and Nick De Luca both picked up bruising to their hands and Mike Blair was suffering from calf pain.

In the pack, skipper Al Kellock suffered a neck strain, Kelly Brown rib contusion, Richie Vernon a calf strain, Euan Murray rib bruising, Moray Low an ankle strain and Ross Rennie a dead leg. With a two week break in the Championship, all players will now be monitored by their clubs' medical staff.
