Three big fights added to UFC on Fox 5 card

UFC president Dana White has confirmed three high profile fights for UFC on Fox 5, headlined by Benson Henderson's lightweight title defence against Nate Diaz.

Henderson will take on Diaz as the main event on December 8, although the city and venue for the show has yet to be confirmed by the UFC. Henderson most recently defeated Frankie Edgar to retain his crown.

A number of other fights have been added to the card, however, with light heavyweights Alexander Gustafsson and Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua serving as the co-main event and Rory MacDonald's re-arranged fight with BJ Penn on the undercard.

Penn, who retired after his most recent loss to Nick Diaz in October last year, was due to make his return against MacDonald at UFC 152 in September, until an injury to MacDonald forced a temporary postponement.

The promotion is expected to announce a further significant fight for the card in the coming weeks.
