Lee to await match-fixing fate

Stephen Lee must wait until Wednesday to find out the length of his sentence for match-fixing after the decision was deferred.

The former world No. 5 was found guilty of fixing seven matches in what was described by World Snooker as "the worst case of corruption". Lee has denied any wrong-doing.

Lee, a five-time ranking event winner, faces a lifetime ban from the sport, and tribunal chairman Adam Lewis QC said his punishment will be announced on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the WPBSA said: "The hearing in the case of Stephen Lee to decide the sanction took place today. Adam Lewis QC will deliver his decision on sanction tomorrow."

The matches in question took place at the 2009 World Championship at the Crucible, the China Open in the same year, the 2008 UK Championship and the Malta Cup before the UK.
