O'Sullivan: I turned down £20,000 to fix match
Ronnie O'Sullivan has admitted he once rejected £20,000 to fix a snooker match.
O'Sullivan, the current world champion and five-time winner of the event, said he was made the offer concerning a Premier League match a decade ago by someone he knew.
"Someone rang me and said he'd like to meet me over in the forest and have a walk through the woods," O'Sullivan wrote in his new autobiography.
"What they were offering, 20 grand. I could get it for a couple of nights' work."
The news comes less than a month after Stephen Lee was banned for 12 years having been found guilty of match fixing.
O'Sullivan, 37, told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I can't do it [match-fixing]. I enjoy playing - snooker's given me a great life.
"It's not just about the money. You put all of that on the line. Without snooker you'd lose friends and family.
"You're not just taking the money, but jeopardising relationships with people, the sport, and the opportunity to embrace great things that being a professional snooker player can give you."
