Carter withdraws from International Championship
Ali Carter will miss the International Championship in China on medical grounds, the player's management has confirmed.
Carter, who returned to snooker two months after being diagnosed with testicular cancer in June, withdrew from his match with Rod Lawler at the Indian Open earlier this week.
Looking forward to getting in the gym tomoro, hopefully I'm turning a corner..— Ali Carter (@TheCaptain147) October 15, 2013
The 34-year-old's management revealed he would not appear at the event in China, which begins on October 27 but gave no further details on Carter's condition.
Carter, who suffers from Crohn's disease, is a two-time World Championship runner-up, having twice lost to Ronnie O'Sullivan in the final at the Crucible.
