Ebdon sees off Robertson, Fu and Selby impress
Peter Ebdon booked a place in the quarter-finals of the International Open after he edged a 6-5 thriller over world No. 1 Neil Robertson.
Robertson raced into a 3-1 lead following breaks of 65, 61 and 117, but Ebdon won the next four frames to move within one of victory with visits of 134, 87, 53 and 87.
The Australian came through a tight ninth frame to keep his chances alive before a break of 68 was enough to take it into a deciding frame.
However, former world champion Ebdon did enough to claim the final frame and set up a quarter-final with Ding Junhui, who made light work of Matthew Stevens in his 6-1 third round win.
Mark Allen suffered a shock 6-4 defeat to Joe Perry, who made two centuries during their match. Perry will now face Ryan Day, who defeated Fergal O'Brien 6-3.
Marco Fu and Mark Selby both enjoyed impressive victories to set up the best of the quarter-final ties. Fu made breaks of 116 and 94 in his 6-2 win over Zhao Xintong, while Selby hit 107 and 90 to cruise past Stuart Bingham.
Liang Wenbo, who knocked out Ronnie O'Sullivan in round two, continued his good form with a 6-1 win over Mark Davis. He plays Graeme Dott next after the Scot saw off Kurt Maflin 6-5, which included a 126 visit.
