Judd Trump, John Higgins and Ding Junhui are safely through to round two of the China Open after they all came through their opening ties unscathed.

Trump enjoyed a 5-1 victory against Kurt Maflin which included breaks of 70, 62 and 54. However, the world No.6 admitted he struggled to find rhythm having travelled from the Players Championship Grand Final later.

"It's been a bit of struggle because I got here early on Monday," Trump told worldsnooker.com. "I didn't have enough sleep last night so I didn't play great, but I'm just pleased to win.

"We both had chances and I think I was always in control. I had bad kicks a couple of times when I could have won frames easily and made breaks. I'm happy now to be able to go and get some sleep, hopefully I can play well tomorrow."

Higgins had to come back from 2-1 down to beat Michael Wasley 5-2, which included a century break of 115, while Ding top scored with 83 in his 5-1 win against John Astley.

Recently-crowned World Open champion Shaun Murphy defeated Jamie Cope 5-1, with two-time world finalist Ali Carter a 5-0 winner over Jamie Jones. World No.2 Mark Selby also progressed with a 5-3 win over Stuart Carrington.

Marco Fu, who showed impressive form at Preston's Guild Hall last week, beat Li Hang 5-3 despite being 3-2 down and Ricky Walden defeated Pankaj Advani 5-1.
