Trump not impressed by Robertson record

Judd Trump believes Neil Robertson's achievement of 100 century breaks in a single season is not as good as making a 147 maximum.

Robertson became the first player to reach the milestone as he beat Trump 13-11 to reach the World Championship semi-finals.

"If it was a maximum, I'd have gone over and shook his hand," Trump told BBC Radio 5 live. "Although it's a brilliant achievement, 100 centuries doesn't mean anything to me.

"I just wanted to get on and win the game. I congratulated him at the end of the match and wished him luck, so that's all I can do. In other people's eyes, it may be [like a maximum].

"I've got no hard feelings against Neil. I get on with him and there was nothing in it. I just wanted to try and win the match and I thought my best way of doing that was getting out of the arena as quickly as possible."

Robertson fought back from 11-8 down to seal a last-four match against Mark Selby.

The 2010 world champion punched the air in joy as he pocketed a green to reach the milestone in the 22nd frame of the match.

"I'd never seen a crowd celebrate like that at the Crucible," said Robertson.

"I've seen a couple of 147s here before and they got nothing like the roar I received.

"I'd written off my chances of doing it here to be honest. The first two sessions of the match was like walking in mud for me. I couldn't get any rhythm.

"I've scored maximum breaks before - but they don't compare to this. I've set a new bar for everyone."

Barry Hawkins survived an incredible fightback from Dominic Dale to triumph 13-12 and set up a semi-final against Ronnie O'Sullivan.

Dale had been 11-5 behind going into the final session but reeled off seven consecutive frames to lead 12-11.

However Hawkins made two frame-winning breaks to win 13-12 and will now face the man he lost 18-12 to in last year's final.

Hawkins could only muster 58 points in the first five frames today, with Dale making breaks of 75, 65, 64, 47 and 61 to fight back to 11-10.

Dale then took the next two frames with the last red to edge in front and move to the verge of an improbable comeback.

However Hawkins made runs of 66 and 65 to seal the win, with Dale failing to score a point in the last two frames.
