Trump and Robertson set up Australian Open final

Judd Trump eased past Xiao Guodong on Saturday to set-up a meeting with home favourite Neil Robertson in the Australian Goldfields Open final.

Trump, 27, had little problem in overcoming the challenge of the World No.23 in Bendigo as he compiled breaks of 114, 101 and 94 to complete a routine win.

His last ranking event victory came in November 2012 but having finished runner-up in the German Open earlier this year, has hinted at a return to form in defeating Ricky Walden, Alan McManus and Rory McLeod on his way to Sunday's final.

It will be a repeat of this year's World Championship quarter-final after Robertson continued his faultless start to the season in beating Mark Davis 6-2. In their last meeting, Roberston completed a remarkable comeback as he became the first player to make 100 century breaks in a single season.

Robertson won in China last week and will move into joint sixth - alongside Ding Junhui on 11 - on the list of all-time winners of ranking event titles if he wins on home soil.

It is Robertson's second successive final at the event; he was beaten 9-6 by Marco Fu in last year's final.
