Fairhurst currently plies his trade with the BC Bears and while he is primarily a scrum-half - he is equally adept at fullback and fly-half. Having made his debut in 2001 for the national side against the USA - Fairhurst moved to the Cardiff Blues in 2006. Following a year there he signed for the Cornish Pirates where he enjoyed two seasons in Cornwall.
Fairhurst currently combines his national duties - he has been named in Canada's 30-man squad for the World Cup - with his day job as a financial advisor.
