Alexander Douglas McLean was a former dual code international who represented the Wallabies 10 times between 1933-36 and also the Kangaroos on two occasions in 1937.
He was Australia's only dual-code international of the 1930s and of the 33 year period between 1919 and 1952.
He is part of the famous McLean clan that includes his father Doug Snr - who also represented Australia in both rugby codes - and brother Bill who captained the Wallabies in the wake of World War II and whose son Peter also played for his country. Another brother Jack toured with the Wallabies in 1946 but did not earn a Test cap. A fourth son Bob had two sons - Jeff and Paul - who also represented the Wallabies.
