South Africa ran home four tries to get their tour back on track with a 32-10 victory over Italy in Udine.

Bryan Habana, Jaque Fourie, Fourie du Preez and Wynand Olivier all scored for the Springboks to put consecutive defeats to Leicester, France and Saracens behind them.

They raced to an early lead, scoring two tries courtesy of Habana and Fourie to go 12-0 up after a quarter of an hour. Full back Zane Kirchner set up Habana for the opening try after just five minutes, and then it was the winger who set up Fourie for South Africa's second.

Things looked bleak for the home side when they went down to 14 men after just eight minutes, when flanker Simone Favaro was dispatched to the sin bin for a late tackle on Fourie du Preez. Morne Steyn hit the post with the resulting penalty from 30 yards.

However, Italy showed the battling spirit they did in their 20-6 defeat to the All Blacks last weekend, and Gonzalo Garcia's try after half an hour ensured South Africa did not have it all their own way, only going in 12-7 up at the break.

South Africa continued to press in the second half and they were rewarded when du Preez scored in the 53rd minute to put his side in control. And Olivier's try in the closing stages wrapped up the victory to ensure the Springboks avoided a fourth straight defeat ahead of their final Test in Ireland.
