The beleaguered Springboks have received positive news as six drugs tests administered in the wake of last weekend's loss to Scotland have returned negative.

South Africa's November tour was soured last week by confirmation that wing Bjorn Basson and hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle had tested positive for banned stimulant methylhexaneamine following their opening victory over Ireland in Dublin on November 6.

Both players were sent home, while the remainder of the squad stopped using supplements immediately as the team's medical staff sought the root of the problem.

Methylhexaneamine was originally intended to be used as a nasal decongestant but in recent times it has found its way into dietary supplements.

Six Springoks, four more than usual, were tested at Murrayfield before the samples were analysed by a World Anti-Doping Agency(WADA) accredited laboratory.
