Worcester Warriors have welcomed Scotland centre Alex Grove back into the fold after a six-month loan spell with Magners League side Edinburgh.

Grove headed north of the border following the Warriors' relegation from the Premiership at the end of last season in a bid to enhance his international prospects prior to next year's Rugby World Cup.

He is now available for the second half of Worcester's Championship campaign, having played 10 games for Edinburgh including one Heineken Cup clash, against Cardiff Blues in October.

Grove won three Scotland caps in November 2009 but has since failed to crack Andy Robinson's first team.

"To have an international quality player coming back into the squad now is a fantastic lift to us all as it will add real competition in the centre berth as we build towards the league play offs," Warriors boss Richard Hill said.

"Alex knows he has a lot of hard work ahead of him to force his way into the team. The squad has moved on well since September and is familiar with the attack and defence strategies we now employ.

"His attitude has been fantastic throughout this loan deal. He has always kept in contact with the coaching staff and players and also made several trips down from Scotland to watch a number of our games at Sixways."

Worcester are currently seven points clear of Bedford Blues at the summit of the Championship.
