London Irish prop Faan Rautenbach has been banned for three weeks after being found guilty of stamping during the Heineken Cup clash with Munster last weekend.

An independent disciplinary hearing held on Thursday judged the 34-year-old South African to have stamped on the shoulder and head of Munster flanker David Wallace during the first half of Irish's 28-14 defeat at Thomond Park on January 22.

Having taken into account Rautenbach's clean record and his guilty plea, judicial officer Robert Williams reduced a five-week ban to a three-week suspension.

He will be free to play again on February 18 having missed London Irish's Anglo-Cup clashes against Northampton this weekend and Gloucester next as well as the Premiership fixture with Newcastle on February 12.
