Fiji flanker Dominiko Waqaniburotu could see his participation in the Rugby World Cup brought to a premature end by suspension after he was cited for a dangerous tackle during Saturday's Pool clash with South Africa.

Waqaniburotu stands accused of making a tip tackle on Springbok fullback Patrick Lambie and has been summoned to appear before the Independent Judicial Officer Christopher Quinlan at a hearing in Auckland. The exact time and date of the hearing have yet to be confirmed.

Should the back-row be found guilty he would most likely miss his country's two remaining fixtures in New Zealand, against Wales and Samoa, as the minimum recommended ban for such an offence is three weeks.
