Saracens hooker Schalk Brits has been cited following his side's convincing win over Treviso in the opening round of the Heineken Cup.

The South African international is charged with carrying out a dangerous tackle on the Treviso wing Benjamin De Jager during the first-half of the game at Vicarage Road. His case will be heard on Wednesday with Rod McKenzie (Scotland) appointed the judicial officer.

Brits is said to have fallen foul of Law 10.4: "Lifting a player from the ground and either dropping or driving that player's head and/or upper body into the ground whilst the player's feet are off the ground."

The IRB stipulate a penalty of anything between three weeks for a low end offence up to 10 weeks for the top end.
