Springboks coach Heyneke Meyer has kept quiet over whether he will want the Millennium Stadium roof to be closed at the weekend but has said he wants it to rain all week so his team experience the British climate ahead of the 2015 World Cup.

Meyer's South Africa take on Wales on Saturday and in the past, if there has been bad weather in the lead up to the match, coaches usually call for the stadium roof to be closed. But Meyer, whose South Africa will face Samoa and Scotland in the World Cup, hopes it will rain all week.

"There is no bad weather, only soft people," Meyer told Wales Online. "I actually want it to rain more this week because that's what we are going to face in the World Cup. So the more the better.

"It's been so warm in South Africa and we are used to that. You want to change the barriers and get the guys used to other conditions, so hopefully it will be pouring down with rain all three games and we can adapt to that. I want the team to be mentally tough to play in all conditions because you can face that in the World Cup.

"The worse conditions the better for us. We need to go out there and do the job."

And it looks like it will be a hard week for his Springboks. He added: "I don't believe in preparing indoors and having a cushy week where the guys are warm and then you go out on to the field and you are into harsh conditions.

"I believe you should train in exactly the same conditions that you are going to play in. And if guys are not mentally tough they won't be in the World Cup. They won't be with the team for much longer."
