Bath skipper signs new one-year deal

Bath have announced club captain Stuart Hooper has signed a one-year extension to his contract.

"This wasn't a tough call for me," Hooper said. "I love leading this squad and am proud to do so, so signing on again was a great moment. Bath is a very exciting place to be, and playing my part in helping this great club grow is a genuine honour."

Mike Ford, the club coach, said Hooper "is a fantastic leader and has real presence, so to extend his contract is a big plus for us … he is massively respected by everyone at Bath and is playing arguably the best rugby of his career.

"Needless to say, we are extremely pleased he will be here next season."
