Bristol coach Sean Holley is hopeful he will have another chance to work with Gavin Henson amid rumours the club are keen to sign the ex-Wales international.

Henson's contract is up at the end of the season and with Bath making a move for Rhys Priestland some believed it would see him leave the Recreation Ground club. Bath have since said they are waiting until Henson returns from injury to judge whether they will offer him a new deal but he has been linked with a move to promotion-chasing Bristol.

Holley, who is on the coaching staff at the Greene King IPA Championship side, worked with Henson at the Ospreys and he is hopeful of linking up again.

"I'm a big admirer of him as a player," Holley said on BBC Sport. "He's a good guy to work with and I'd love to work with him again. We'll just have to see if it happens to fit for all sides - which includes Gavin, ourselves and Bath."

Prior to joining Bath, Henson went through a number of clubs but Holley believes he is somewhere close to being back to his best.

"He's [Henson] lost his way off the field, no doubt, but watching him play for Bath this season - he's got it back to how we remember him," Holley said. "He keeps himself in great shape and is a good professional.

"He seems in a pretty good place and probably he feels he owes the game something and owes himself something, with all the seasons he's missed with injury or misadventure."
