Saracens prop Petrus du Plessis has been named in the World XV squad to face South Africa next month alongside Delon and Steffon Armitage.

It was confirmed earlier this month that the Armitage brothers, as well as Springboks legend Bakkies Botha, would be part of the Toulon contingent involved in the Cape Town clash.

However, it has now been revealed who will join the 13 names already announced, with Carl Hayman, Mike Harris, Tom Taylor, Lachie Turner, David Roumieu, Gurthro Steenkamp, Jordan Taufua, Flip Van der Merwe and Luke Whitelock all set to run out at Newlands on July 11.

It means that the coaching team of Robbie Deans and Bernard Laporte have a squad crammed full of experience, having amassed a combined 460 Test caps between them.

And Deans is determined to give the Springboks a tough match as they prepare for the Rugby Championship.

"As a coach you relish the chance to work with talented players and this World XV has the experience and quality to come together quickly and really test South Africa," he said.

"Toulon have been a dominant force in Europe for the last three years and the South African contingent led by Bakkies Botha will want to be at least competitive against all their former teammates.

"We know we will need to match the physicality and intensity as well as the skill levels of one of the leading World Cup contenders and it's a great challenge for myself, Bernard Laporte and the players to work on."
