New Zealand favourites for heavyweight clash

South Africa's 1995 Rugby World Cup winning team will jog around the streets of London early Saturday morning in an attempt to inspire the current crop to emulate their famous victory over New Zealand -- and have invited the locals to join them.

The Springboks and the All Blacks will battle it out at Twickenham for a place in this year's showpiece hours after 1995 captain Francois Pienaar and teammates complete a two-mile run through central London in a bid to summon the spirit of their great triumph 20 years ago.

Pienaar and co famously ran around Sandton hours before that Ellis Park final, in which they beat New Zealand thanks to Joel Stransky's extra-time drop goal.

"On the morning of the 1995 Rugby World Cup Final, they famously ran in Sandton. Twenty years later, the world champion Springboks are running again -- through the streets of London," South African rugby released in a statement on Friday.

"All are welcome to join the 1995 Springboks squad and jog for two miles from Trafalgar Square and back. Meet outside the National Gallery at 7.30am on 24 October 2015."
