Highlanders in blistering form in bruising win over Lions

The Highlanders were in blistering form as they took down a strong Lions side in a bruising 34-15 encounter in Dunedin. Length of the field tries to Ben Smith and Matt Faddes in the second half put the game well out of contention for the Lions, but the South African-side continued to fight well into the final minutes with the side denied a try seconds after the fulltime bell. 

The Highlanders were tested early from the visitors, but a three try blitz right after the half-time break broke the Lions as they dominated turnover ball and cut through the defence. However, the win did come at a cost for the Highlanders with star wing Patrick Osborne limping from the field in the 60th minute after he was hit hard while contesting a high ball.
