Springbok coach Nick Mallett has confirmed that Jannie de Beer will start the semi-final against Australia on Saturday after his record-breaking performance against England in the quarter-final.
Although original first choice Henry Honiball has now recovered from the hamstring injury which has kept him out of the competition thus far Mallett will not leave out his match winner.
"It would be unfair to make a change to the team at fly-half after a match-winning performance like that," said the coach.
Meanwhile the Springboks have started their preparations for the Australian game with a day of video watching. It was through repeated watching of videos that Mallett came up with the strategy that enabled De Beer to kick his world record five drop goals. And now the team our undertaking another course of video watching in a bid to work out the best way to beat Australia.
