Herbert in line for Qld Reds manager's job
July 31, 2000

Former Wallaby centre Anthony Herbert is expected be named new manager of the Queensland Reds.

The hard-running centre, who played 67 games for Queensland in the late 80s and early 90s, is expected to replace Brian Trendell.

A popular member of both Wallaby and Queensland squads as a player, Herbert will provide a valuable link between the playing staff and the Queensland Rugby Union administration.

Herbert, brother of Wallaby centre Daniel, joins new coach Mark McBain, who replaced long-serving mentor John Connolly.
