Swickard named as Eagles media officer

USA Rugby President Anne Barry and Executive Director Mark Rudolph announce today the hiring of Allison Swickard as the organization's media and public relations coordinator.

Swickard will be responsible for coordinating both national and regional public and media relations initiatives on behalf of USA Rugby. As part of her duties, she will produce all printed materials, develop news releases and coordinate the communications efforts of the national organization.

"We are excited to have Allison as part of the team," said Rudolph. "Her diverse professional background will help move our media and public relations initiatives forward."

Swickard joins USA Rugby from Think Communications, Inc., Pittsburgh, where she was a public relations account executive. Previous to Think Inc., Swickard served as the public relations assistant for the Ohio Consumers' Counsel, Columbus, Ohio.

A Wintersville, Ohio native, Swickard holds a bachelor's of arts degree in public relations from Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio, where she served as the national vice president of professional development for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).

Swickard, 24, currently resides in Colorado Springs.
