Connacht attract new signing

Connacht have increased the strength of their squad ahead of the European Shield registration deadline on Friday.

The western province have recruited Shane Stephens a New Zealand born centre/full-back who plays for De La Salle Palmerston in Dublin.

The New Zealander, who has Irish qualifications, has just arrived back in Ireland for his third season with the club but linked up with Connacht yesterday despite interest from Leinster. It is likely that he will start Saturday's Interprovincial against Munster, however Ian Dillon will miss Saturday's game having been taken ill yesterday.
