Guscott in "drunk" claims
Bath

Former England international rugby player Jeremy Guscott was arrested by police after allegedly being found drunk and incapable, it has emerged.

Officers came across the 35-year-old one-time British Lions centre in Saw Close, in the centre of Bath, at 1.45am on Sunday.

Guscott still plays club rugby for Bath - he is in his testimonial season with the club - but is injured at present.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman would only confirm that a 35-year-old man had been detained and released without charge.

He said: ``A 35-year-old man was arrested at 1.45am on September 17 for being drunk and incapable in Saw Close, Bath, and was later released without charge.''

Bath Rugby Club spokesman Bob Calleja said: ``It is inappropriate to comment because we are not aware of the facts of the situation.''

Last November, Guscott was cleared of assaulting antiques dealer Kenneth Jones during an argument in Bath.

The star was found not guilty of causing actual bodily harm after a week-long trial at Bristol Crown Court.
