Visagie to know fate soon
November 13, 2000
Springbok and Western Province tighthead prop Cobus Visagie could know his fate this week. He tested positive for a banned substance after a Currie Cup match against Boland last month and has requested to have his B-sample (urine) tested. The sample was tested in Bloemfontein. Visagie maintains he is innocent and claims that the reason his testosterone level might have been higher than the presribed level can be attributed to the supplements given to him by the SA Rugby Football Union and WP. If his B-sample is also positive, Visagie will have to explain why this is the case. He faces a mandatory two-year ban if found guilty. |
