Mallett shows interest in Quins job
January 3, 2001

Former Springboks coach Nick Mallett has expressed his interest in taking up the coaching post at Harlequins vacated by Zinzan Brooke earlier this week.

"I am very interested in talking to anyone about a coaching job in England," he told the Daily Mail. "Harlequins are a famous club but there has been no approach. While I am in no rush, I do have a young family to consider."

Quins chief executive Mark Evans welcomed the interest from Mallett. "He is a quality coach with a proven track record, if he is available at the right price he would be a strong candidate."

Other names to have been linked with the job at The Stoop are former All Black coach John Hart and former Wales fly-half and Bedford coach Paul Turner.
