Stormers captain Corne Krige has set his team a target of four tries per match on tour in the Super 12 series.

"Last year we lost to the Crusaders, but were still able to get a bonus point and they could be crucial in the final analysis. If we score four tries in a game, it's unlikely to be eclipsed by our opponents," he told the Cape Times.

The Stormers are hoping to win their first two matches on tour to get back on track after their opening defeat to the Cats at Newlands last Saturday. They play the Waratahs on Sunday and the Hurricanes next week.

"If we can get off to a winning start, much of that positive feeling will spill over into the next game. We've already put the disappointment of the weekend behind us and our first and foremost goal is to enjoy this tour."

Krige also believes young flyhalf Chris Rossouw could play an important role on tour. Rossouw is expected to play against the Waratahs on Sunday. Braam van Straaten is likely to move to inside-centre to replace the injured De Wet Barry.

"I think Chris is a very good player and his creativity will do a lot for the side," Krige said.
