Solomons makes two changes
March 1, 2001

Springbok tourist Chris Rossouw will make his Super 12 debut on Sunday when the Stormers face the New South Wales Waratahs in Sydney.

Coach Alan Solomons on Thursday made two changes to the starting line-up from the team that lost to the Cats at Newlands on Saturday.

The young Rossouw, one of the brightest talents in South African rugby, comes in for the injured De Wet Barry, who broke his cheekbone in an off-the-ball tackle by Japie Mulder. Rossouw will start at flyhalf, with Bok No 10 Braam van Straaten moving to the inside centre position.

Promising under-23 centre Stuart Abbott will start on the bench, as will Western Province utility back Werner Greeff, who replaces Robert Markram on the pine.

In the other change to the side, Rob Brink will start at lock after replacing the injured Quinton Davids in the second row during the Newlands clash. Davids suffered an ankle injury on Saturday, but will start from the bench.

Bob Skinstad keeps his place at No 8, despite pressure from the impressive Adri Badenhorst.

Stormers team: Percy Montgomery, Breyton Paulse, Robbie Fleck, Braam van Straaten, Pieter Rossouw, Chris Rossouw, Dan van Zyl, Bob Skinstad, Corne Krige (capt), Hendrik Gerber, Hottie Louw, Rob Brink, Faan Rautenbach, Charl Marais, Rob Kempson. Substitutes: Pieter Dixon, Morne van der Merwe, Quinton Davids, Adri Badenhorst, Neil de Kock, Stuart Abbott, Werner Greeff.
