Cats make one change for Brumbies visit
March 7, 2001

South Africa's Cats made one enforced change to their team to face Australia's Brumbies in round three of the Super 12 at Ellis Park on Saturday.

Lock Kleinjan Tromp makes his first start in the competition in place of the injured Springbok Jannes Labuschagne.

Tromp scored two tries against the Otago Highlanders last Saturday when he appeared as a first-half substitute for Labuschagne, who has strained knee ligaments.

The Cats are currently second in the table after two rounds of the competition on nine points, following a 29-24 win over the Stormers and a 56-21 victory over the Highlanders.

They are also the only side to have claimed an away win in the tournament, with their victory in Cape Town against the Stormers.

Coach Laurie Mains has been consistent in his selections and has only made changes because of injuries.

The side will once again be captained by Springbok flanker Rassie Erasmus.

Springbok centre Japie Mulder was not considered for selection due to a two-match suspension imposed on him for foul play in the match against the Stormers. He will be available for selection next week.

Team: 15-Thinus Delport; 14-Wylie Human, 13-Grant Esterhuizen, 12-Eugene Meyer, 11-Dean Hall; 10-Louis Koen, 9-Chad Alcock; 8-Andre Vos, 7-Andre Venter, 6-Rassie Erasmus, 5-Kleinjan Tromp, 4-Johan Ackermann, 3-Willie Meyer, 2-Leon Boshoff, 1-Marius Mostert.
