Drotske must serve ban
March 28, 2001

The Bulls have missed the deadline to appeal against Naka Drotske's one-match ban and the hooker will not play against the Crusaders at Loftus on April 8.

Drotske was found guilty of purposely elbowing Highlanders wing Iliesa Tanivula after falling on top of him during their match on Saturday. Tanivula was also banned for one match for kicking Drotske against the head while the Bulls player was lying on the ground.

The Bulls had planned to appeal the ban, but have missed the 24-hour deadline.

Bulls manager Wynie Strydom said they had attended the hearing and were told "they have ample time to appeal". They then decided to leave the matter until the team return to South Africa.
