Six of South Africa's squad have been isolated as a precautionary measure after coming down with the flu ahead of Saturday's second Test against England.

Danie Rossouw, Deon Carstens, Ashwin Willemse, BJ Botha, Wynand Olivier and Waylon Murray have all been quarantined to get over their illness.

``Those six players have been isolated from the rest of the squad as a precaution but at the moment it is not serious,'' Springboks manager Zola Yeye told reporters.

However, the Boks are confident that have the depth to cope if the players do not recover.

Jaque Fourie is ready to return to the midfield, winger Akona Ndungane can slot in on the outside for Willemse, while Gurthro Steenkamp could come in for Carstens.

In practice, CJ Van der Linde ran in BJ Botha's place while Pierre Spies and Bob Skinstad alternated at number eight.

The Springboks have released AJ Venter - who missed the first Test because of his wedding - to return to Durban to negotiate with the Sharks over a contract extension.

``AJ was never going to be used this week so we felt we should release him to go and discuss his contract and also to be with his new wife,'' Yeye said.

``As you know, AJ had to cut his honeymoon to be with us yesterday.''
