Hello and welcome to our Live coverage of the Argentina-South Africa Test from Estadio Jose Amalfitani in Buenos Aires, where the Springboks will be looking to right last week's horror show against the Pumas. Funny old game, as the Boks probably should have beaten both Australia and New Zealand while Argentina had been poor in their two games before they destroyed South Africa. Key selection here are surely those of Pat Lambie for the benched Handre Pollard at No.10 for South Africa and Argentina fly-half Nicolas Sanchez. Juan Martin Hernandez, last week's Man of the Match, had originally been shifted to second five-eighth, ut he now misses with a bout of gasrto. Marcos Ayerza also is a late withdrawal Read our preview here.

1

We're underway through Pat Lambie and the Springboks go hard in to the opening breakdown. but Argentina equally strong in defence and ver solid at opening lineout.

2

Juan Imhoff goes close to repeating heroics from last week, dancing through defence before he is forced into touch by Eben Etzebeth after running half length of the field from a turnover effected when Zane Kirchner spilled the ball in contact. Big warding to the Boks that Pumas' win last week was no fluke.

5

Augustin Creevy penalised for not releasing under pressure at the breakdown from Heinrich Brussow.

6 0 - 3

Pat Lambie puts to ball over the black dot from 40m. Lovely kick. Argentina straight on the attack from the kick-off after South Africa knock on, and first scrum of the game after Pumas also knock on.

7

South Africa clear lines after Lucas Noguera Paz penalised for bringing down set-piece.

8

The game is yet to establish a rhythm or a tempo with Glen Jackson's whistle dominating proceedings right now. The scrum in particular is a mess, with multiple resets.

14 3 - 3

Marcel van der Merwe penalised for binding on the arn after the scrum finally is set, and Nico Sanchez chips an easy penalty goal to equalise the score.

15

Argentina now penalised for not rolling away at a ruck. Breakdown is a brutal and hard-fought battle right now, with both teams committing bodies, although Glen Jackson is perhaps a bit quick on the whistle perhaps in reaction to South African criticism of the Pumas last week.

17 3 - 6

Another good kick from Pat Lambie to put the Boks back in front.

19

Nice variation there from the Boks in their own territory with Pat Lambie chipping a crossfield kick-pass but it's too big for Jesse Kriel and we have a Argentina lineout.

20

Argentina rumble forward from the lineout but South Africa can clear deep after another steal from Heinrich Brussow.

21

South Africa attack from midfield with great hands from Lwazi Mvovo and Schalk Burger and a great pick-up from Ruan Pienaar but the No.9 spills the ball forward under pressure of a covering tackle with the tryline begging.

23

Argentina penalised at the ensuing scrum and South Africa kick for the corner. South Africa rumble from the linout before Pumas penalised for not rolling away so we go again. Heinrich Brussow held up over the line from another lineout drive but Pumas penalised again.

26 3 - 11

Intense pressure from South Africa and the dam breaks at last when the Boks go wide with a long pass to Bryan Habana, who is one of three Boks unmarked and he just falls over the line.

27 3 - 13

Lambie - conversion

28

South Africa beginning to assert with Pumas undoing their own efforts by conceding penalty after penalty, often as not for failing to release of not rolling away at the breakdown. Pumas need to address this quickly by thinking on their feet.

29 3 - 18

Lwazi Mvovo scores a quite brilliant try, finishing with strong running around and through poor Pumas defence after brilliant handling in the backline, most notably by Schalk Burger's who's tip pass put the winger into space initially.

31 3 - 20

Lambie - conversion

32

Pumas awarded penaly after Adriaan Strauss slows their breakdown delivery but they'll be worried by their ability to bend the line in close, with forwards and backs alike set backward in the initial contact.

33 6 - 20

Sanchez - penalty goal

34

Argentina try to run the ball from deep in 22 after the kick-off, after Nico Sanchez is closed down and prevented from clearing after slow ball, but their backs are neither big enough or fast enough to break the line; they roost deep into South African territory as soon as Sanchez gets a little more time.

35

South Africa dominating both territory and possession - 76% an 67% respectively - and Pumas probably doing well to be within 14 points still, particularly given the penalties they're conceding at the breakdown.

38 9 - 20

Eben Etzebeth now penalised for not rolling away at the breakdown on halfway, and Nico Sanchez strikes a wonderful goal. Deep restart and Bryan Habana flies to regather deep in Pumas territory, but the chance is lost when Argentina effect a steal and then win a penalty after an offence that sparks a mini melee. Handbags really, and Victor Matfield told to speak to Eben Etzebeth for his off-the-ball action.

40

Argentina put the ball into touch from the ensuing penalty, and that's half-time.

40

We're under way again through Nico Sanchez, but South Africa are soon deep in opposition territory after Bryan Habana snipes through the middle, stepping this way and that, until he loses his footing.

42 9 - 23

South Africa steal Argentina's lineout and Pat Lambie drops a supreme goal. Lambie making a real statement to be included over Handre Pollard as the starting fly-half at the Rugby World Cup. Executing everything brilliantly and directing the Boks around the paddock.

44

Boks go short side and Pat Lambie puts Bryan Habana into space with a cutout passes. The winger feeds Damien de Allende but the centre spills the ball in contact.

46

Argentina deep in South Africa territory through 12 phases, with Juan Manuel Leguizamon involved heavily, but they fail to do more than bend the line millimetres at a time until Glen Jackson awards them a penalty and they then spill the ball from the ensuing lineout move.

48

South Africa now have an all-new front-row on the paddock, and we're interested to see the effect. The Boks' bench has not been strong this year.

51 12 - 23

South Africa concede yet another penalty at the breakdown, and the Pumas now seem to have redressed the balance of power there. Or perhaps Glen Jackson is just seeing things differently to earlier.

52

Argentina again try to play the ball wide deep inside their 22, but South Africa's defence is fast out the blocks and they go backwards before Nico Sanchez tries a chip over the line. South Africa recycle and attack before Glen Jackson finds an Argentina penalty.

55 12 - 26

Lambie - penalty goal

57

Argentina build pressure through phases until Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe's tip pass goes forward, and South Africa will be happy with their defence that looks impregnable today.

59

South Africa win a scrum penalty and Pat Lambie puts them deep inside Argentina 22. Boks win the lineout and put the ball though phases but they lose the ball at the base of the ruck and Argentina pounce and clear with a breakout.

61

Argentina try to run the ball, but passing and movement is incredibly laboured, and Santiago Cordero thwn spills the ball on the wing under no pressure after a cutout ball.

62

Tomas Lavanini for no-arms at a ruck, but Pat Lambie bombs the opportunity to build pressure by kicking the penalty dead as he goes for too much distance.

64

South Africa win a penalty at the scrum, and Lambie this time finds touch inside the 22.

65

South Africa win an uncontested lineout but ignore the maul option, instead playing wider. Peter-Steph du Toit and Eben Etzebeth run hard a straight but the Pumas hold the latter up in a maul to win a scrum. They then win a clearing free-kick as South Africa push early.

67

Argentina break from deep after winning a turnover, their broken-field running good, and they win a scrum on halfway.

68

South Africa penalised again for engaging early, and Argentina now in visitors' 22. The win the lineout and build phases but again look unable to break the line before Eben Etzebeth wins a penalty.

71

South Africa denied ball during the 10 minutes Lavanini has been off the pitch. Argentina have done well, and Santiago chips and chases from inside his own half only for Pat Lambie to come from nowhere to touch down and save the day.

74

Pieter-Steph du Toit has made a big impact as a flanker since replacing Willem Alberts.

75

Strong scrum from South Africa, and they win a free-kick when Argentins penalised for "playing the ball in the tunnel".

76

South Africa build phases inside the 5m, from the scrum, with their replacements looking dangerous. They go for anothe scrum after Cobues Rienach taken early.

78

Strong scrum from South Africa until Schalk Burger spills the ball at the base.

80

Glen Jackson does not agre with the hooter, saying we have two minutes still to play.

80+1

South Africa win a tighthead and go on the attack going left and right with Lwazi Mvovo breaking on the left wing before the Boks go off their feet at the ensuing ruck.

80+2

Argentina fail to clear, and South Africa back on the attack before glen Jackson calls time when Lwazi Mvovo sills the ball.
