South Africa wing Bryan Habana is free to face Italy after his citing for allegedly kicking Vincent Clerc during the Springboks' 13-20 defeat to France on Friday was dismissed.

At the disciplinary hearing in London, the IRB's judicial officer for the match, Professor Lorne Crerar, considered a series of video clips as well as the player's statement and was unable to determine, on the balance of probabilities, that the winger had deliberately kicked his opponent.

Video evidence appears to show France fullback Damien Traille pulling Habana's leg towards him and Clerc.

Habana faced suspension after being cited following the incident during Friday's match in Toulouse, but he will now be available for the Springboks' remaining matches against Italy and Ireland.
