South Africa have confirmed they will select their "strongest possible squad" for the November Tests against Wales, Scotland and England.

The world champions' touring party will be named following South Africa's domestic Currie Cup final on October 26. Andy Marinos, the acting managing director of SA Rugby, has quashed reports that head coach Peter de Villiers is planning to rest some of his leading players for the tour amid concerns over burn-out ahead of the 2009 Lions series.

Marinos said: "One of Peter's personal managers made some casual remarks to a reporter about Peter perhaps resting players for the end of year tour. But we have agreed that following a final selection meeting, having viewed the Absa Currie Cup comprehensively, the strongest possible team will be considered for the tour.

"We met the leading provinces at the conclusion of the Vodacom Tri-Nations and discussed managing the players' workloads. But any suggestions attributed to the national coach that we will be resting players are absolutely incorrect."

The Springboks open their tour against Wales - their third meeting this year after South Africa won both June internationals - on November 8. South Africa tackle Scotland a week later before facing England in a 2007 World Cup final rematch at Twickenham on November 22.
