South Africa have lost scrum-half Fourie du Preez to injury for Saturday's autumn international against Scotland.

The 26-year-old hurt a quadriceps muscle in training and will be replaced in the starting XV by Ricky Januarie at Murrayfield.

Du Preez drops out of the 22 altogether, while Januarie's place on the bench has been taken by utility forward Danie Rossouw.

The world champions had named an unchanged line-up from Saturday's narrow win in Wales earlier this week.

South Africa: Beast Mtawarira, Bismarck du Plessis, John Smit (c), Bakkies Botha, Victor Matfield, Schalk Burger, Juan Smith, Pierre Spies, Ricky Januarie, Ruan Pienaar, Bryan Habana, Jean de Villiers, Adi Jacobs JP Pietersen, Conrad Jantjes

Replacements: Brian Mujati, Gurthro Steenkamp, Andries Bekker, Ryan Kankowski, Danie Rossouw, Frans Steyn, Jaque Fourie
